Cave Robs Urías Of Hit With Spectacular Diving Catch
Orioles' Urías Had Been Heating Up, But Cave's Catch Preserves Lead
Jake Cave made an incredible leaping catch against the left-field wall to rob Ramón Urías of a hit in the top of the sixth inning on Tuesday night. The catch preserved a 3-2 lead for the Rockies at the time and helped them go on to win the game 5-3.
Urías had been heating up at the plate, going 4-for-11 with two doubles and two RBIs in his previous three games. But Cave's catch prevented him from adding to his totals and helped the Rockies maintain their lead.
Cave's catch was just one of many highlights for the Rockies on Tuesday night. Trevor Story also homered and drove in three runs, and Charlie Blackmon had three hits. But it was Cave's catch that may have been the most memorable play of the game.
