Chen Meng Defeats Sun Yingsha in Women's Singles Final

Chinese professional table tennis player Chen Meng has successfully defended her Olympic women's singles title, defeating her teammate Sun Yingsha 4-2 in the final on Saturday, August 3.

A Repeat of History

Chen Meng's victory marks a repeat of history, as she also won the women's singles gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. The 27-year-old has now become the second woman to win back-to-back Olympic titles in table tennis, after Deng Yaping of China (1992 and 1996).
